
Boas Laffer is a dedicated Swiss pianist and aspiring piano teacher, currently studying at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in Karl-Andreas Kolly’s class. His musical education began at the music schools of Laufen and Basel, led him through the PreCollege Basel, and includes a minor in children’s choir conducting as well as conducting lessons.
As a musician, he performs both solo and chamber music and has participated multiple times in the Musiques à festival in Basel and Manzac-sur-Verne. Additionally, he organizes Liederabend (song recitals) with singer Daniel Mauerhofer and plays piano duets with Josephine Riek.
Boas brings diverse pedagogical experience: from civil service assignments in primary schools to teaching assistance and regular substitute work at the Winterthur Conservatory. He currently teaches at the Schenkenbergertal Music School. His work with children and young people is complemented by his involvement as a J+S leader in the Grindel gymnastics club.
Beyond music, Boas is an enthusiastic mountaineer, organizes alpine tours, and is actively involved in club life.
